Would a Surge work better in this situation than a Charge 2?

I ordered a Charge 2 yesterday, but I'm thinking about canceling my order (or returning it) and getting a Surge instead. I live in an area where there is no reliable cell service (in certain parts of the community you can maybe get a bar or two, but not reliably) so when I moved here I switched to having just a home phone.

Would I still be able to use the GPS on the Surge to track my activity using just my wifi once I'm home?

The surge has built in GPS.

Charge 2 has connected GPS which sometimes is hard to connect to.

If I was you I would go with the surge as GPS sounds big to you

Sorry, I meant would I be able to track my walks/runs using only the Surge and sync the data once I got home using my wifi (or bluetooth)? I have a cell phone, but I disconnected it because there is no service here.
