Wrist band failure; which color?

Hey gang,

I've seen lots and lots of threads about Surge wrist band failures and wonder if the color of the band has something to do with the failures.  I ask because recently my original Surge developed a stuck upper right button and Fitbit sent me a new one.  The thing is, my original Surge was black, and while it has worn at the outer corners of the watch face, the band itself was nearly a year old when I got my replacement and it was still in good shape and very supple.  My new Surge is blue, and the first thing I noticed was the band was significantly stiffer/less flexible, this in turn makes me wonder if the wrist bands on the non-Black Surges are more prone to failure than the black ones.

So, how about a poll; for those of y'all who've had a wrist band fail on a Surge, please chime in as to which color it was (or they were) and how it failed (i.e. broken strap, cracks by the screws...).  Maybe there is a common thread here, and maybe say, the black Surges have less issues than the colored ones.

Mine is black, I got it as a gift earlier this year and the band is tearing.  I know of a couple other people with a black band that have had to replace them.

Mine was black also. Tearing and peeling happened after one yr of wear.

I need help! The black wrist band is separating from the area around the face of the fitbit. This is happening in three areas and I'm concerned it will become worse. Should I use superglue? Thanks for any help. Karen Bell

If it is still under the one-year warranty period, Fitbit will replace it
free. Mine separated and fell completely off. I sent them a picture, they
verified my registration, and sent me a whole new unit.

Good luck.

@Spebfan, congratulations, hopefully your replacement unit will last a very long time.  🙂
