battery issues - full charge depletes within several hours

Hi all,

I'm a little at a loss with how to solve this problme I'm having.  My surge was recently replaced - a month or so ago because the battery was dreadful and kept dying.

The replacement worked well for a shrt while and then around 10 days ago I noticed the same symptons if not worse.  When I'm at work the Surge is either charging at my desk or sitting on my desk as I don't like to wear it when I type, consequently the charge is typiclaly always full (or showing full) when I elave work.  I have a 10 - 15 minute bike ride home.  On occasion, the battery has been depleted before I've returned home.
My biggest issue is that is seems to die during an after work gym session.  Cycling, no gps is being used.

I've emailed customer support a week ago and haen't received a reply and so I'm turning to the forums for help as I'm at a bit of a loss - I'm trying to train for some charoty bike event snad the data from the watch is invaluable, when it records it.  Any help or suggestions are appreciated.  I feel like I'm the common denominator but I simply have no clue why it's acting liek it is, is it a common issue?  Have I just been unlucky

First do a hard restart on your surge.  Try only charging for 2hrs only when your Surge says it is low (battery icon is in the corner on the second swiped screen).  As you shortened your charge cycle by leaving plugged in all the time; hopefully you can retrain it to be longer and longer going forward by resetting where empty is,  Bear in mind lithiums have a fixed number of charge cycles available to them over their lifetime, use them wisely 🙂

Hi,

I have had the Surge for a week and have decided to return it. My battery life amounted to one day without GPS. I followed all the advice on the forum, which was helpful, but have had no improvement. I will take it back to the store whilst the receipt is still valid. I have ordered the Blaze from the Website in hope of it being a suitable replacement. Judging from the forum though, it has problems of its own.
