condensation in surge screen

have had my surge for 18 months.  It has never been exposed to a pool, shower, or any water, other than sweat.  Forum said to put in rice for 24 hours.  Did not work. Contacted support and was told out of warranty and they cannot fix it, would I like to buy another one.  Um NO I do not wish to spend another $250 on a product that cannot be fixed and is considered disposable after 18 months.

Also have issue with screen not swiping and inability to sync.

I'm  having the exact same issues (screen condensation and no swipe), and my Surge is out of warranty as well.  The good news, sort of, is by keeping my Surge in a sealed food container full of rice for a few hours after each run the condensation has gradually decreased over the last week.  The screen swipe *seems* to be getting a bit better as well in that it works every now and again following a restart, but only for a minute or two.

Update 14-Sep-2016: Dryer weather and lots of time in the sealed rice container has improved my tracker's functionality.  There are still some water droplettes on the inner surface of the screen and some clouding still shows up after a long run, but the screen swipe functionality is now mostly restored.  🙂

Same thing happened to mine. Never exposed to water. Just high humidity in the house. I expected better from a $250 tracker. 😞

It's great to see you around @Doncog@terrier and @shipo. If you are having problems with your Surge display, I recommend getting in touch directly with our support team, for a faster response you can contact them via phone or chat. Also, please check our warranty policy. If you have already contacted support and was offered a 25% discount, keep in mind that you can use that discount to purchase any of our trackers. I recommend checking this page where you will be able to see all the trackers we offer and select the one you like the most.

Catch you later. Woman Happy

I may contact support, but I'm pretty sure this is my last Fitbit. Fitbit is no longer adding features for the Surge (calander alerts would be a simple one). $250 was too much for a product which went obsolete in a year. I'll look at the Pebble Time 2 next since they now integrate HR, and their watch OS supports every model they ever  made. If Fitbit could do the same, I could stay.

Maybe I missed it, but it doesn't look like the Pebble 2 has in-built GPS, a key feature of the Surge.
