If it's defective and you are still under warranty (it runs for 2 years in Europe, 1 year elsewhere) then you may be able to get a replacement Surge from fitbit customer support:

Fitbit didn't design the Surge band to be replaced and although fitbit don't sell replacement bands you can get them on eBay, Amazon etc. However, the replacement procedure is a little complicated and you'll need to use the YouTube guides. If you are out of warranty though then it may be worth trying.

I bought a replacement strap/band from China they are identical to the original & fit, feel great. Have had it a while & no burn on my wrist yet. Have to wait till summer that's when the strap burns me more.
