surge suddently not tracking outdoor bike or active minutes

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my surge for 6 months and up until this week it has tracked outdoor biking activity and active minutes great. Now it does not seem to be kicking in even if I've been biking for 10 minutes as per my settings.  Any ideas on what would cause my surge to suddently fail to smart track my biking activities?  My active minutes are suddenly less as well even though my exercise routine has not changed.

It's nice to see you around the Community @maryanndube59 Woman Very Happy! I'd recommend restarting your Fitbit Surge by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the Home and Select buttons (left and bottom right) on your Fitbit Surge for 10 to 15 seconds, until you see the screen flash or start to dim.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. After your screen turns completely off, wait 10 seconds and press the Home button to turn your Surge back on.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the suggestion!  However, I have already restarted my Fitbit Surge a couple of times. Active minutes seem to be tracking now, but outdoor bike is still failing to get recognized by the tracker.

Hmmm....very strange  @maryanndube59! I'd recommend setting up your Surge as a new device by doing the following:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
  2. Tap Devices.
  3. Tap the + icon in the top right corner.
  4. If you're replacing a tracker, tap the tracker you want to replace. If you're setting up a new tracker, tap Add a new Device.
  5. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

Before the set up process, make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date.

Let me know the good news!
