This is my first attempt to use my new Surge - after returning the first watch since it would not work - and I cannot figure out how to do the very first thing I tried.... I cannot figure out how to simply add "walk" to my exercise list...Why does Fitbit not work on making their products function according to instructions....It should not be difficult to verify that your instructions have any value or validity to us your customers...??? There are MANY criticisms online regarding your products....Why will you not listen and correct the problems ??? Tim Deese

To add Walk to the surge. Go to your dashboard and click on the gear and go to settings. This is where you will find just about anything that's needs to be changed.
Then select the device on the left hand side Scroll down to exercise shortcuts and add walk.
It probably is already there you can move it to the top so you see it first on the device it self.
On the watch if you just swipe when on that screen it also will come up.
Might want to read the manual as well you can learn about the device
