tracked bike as walk, despite me tracking on the watch as a walk

I tapped my surge to start tracking my walk this morning.  It showed as a walk when I synced after walking, but when I looked later, it was converted to a bike and removed the step count from the "impact."  The tile on both the android app and the desktop dashboard is locked, in that it doesn't show the little pencil icon to let me edit it back to a walk.  I'm frustrated with it.

On the upside, as I've tried to find an answer to my problem (which I couldn't find so now it's a complaint,) I was reminded I can just shut off the auto tracker so that's what I'm doing.  The bike detection captures any activity where it seems I'm exerting myself but not moving, then logs it as biking.  This happens EVERY time I start the chainsaw.  It was just annoying till now, so I've deactivated auto track for biking.

Can I fix this workout to accurately reflect what happened?

@stephtheref A warm welcome to our Fitbit Community! This seems really odd. Since you mentioned that you removed the "Bike" exercise from your Surge, I would recommend to leave it like that if you don't use that option. Also, make sure to remove the "Bike" exercise from the "Exercise Shortcuts" list from your Dashboard.

If this happens again, I recommend restarting your Surge as advised in Meylin's post and try the walking activity as a test.

Keep me posted on the outcome my friend and I'll be around! Smiley Happy
