using lap running feature for other sports?

Here is a weird question. i know the surge has lap running feature that tells you your times for each lap after your workout. i'm curious if this would also work with something like motorcycle racing? im not sure if the gps will keep up or not since speeds would be in access of 90+mph in some parts of the track. if i could use the surge though, that would be fantastic. motorcycle racing lap timers are usually 300 dollars or more, and i cant use them anywhere else.

actually i think i just found my answer. there is no auto laps feature meaning i have to manually press when i have reached a lap. this would not work for motorcycle racing, as it has to be auto since I'm going too fast to manually press the button, or even take my hands off the handlebars!
