@MasterBlender1 If your Surge is under warranty call Customer Service. They should replace it. If it is not under warranty Amazon sells aftermarket replacement bands and YouTube has videos on the procedure. What is FitBit doing to fix the common problem? Replacing the defective unit under warranty or offering a discount on another purchase. Go figure. Welcome to The World Of FitBit.

If it's within the year of you receiving it for your birthday unless your in Europe then it's 2 years you can contract fitbit support for a replacement, just explain it was a gift. If no longer in warranty then check the forums as others have put links to replacement bands and you tube videos on how to replace them. I didn't have the band issue but several other issues so I changed to a Garmin vivoactive hr and haven't regretted it others like the apple watch, it's something to think about. Good luck!
