wristband of another material?

I've had my Surge about a week and a half now and been taking care of it as best I can. I use hand sanitizer that I know I don't break out with on the band at least every two or three days. Today i woke up and my wrist broke out so badly that there was blood. I was wearing it on my dominant wrist so i switched it to my non dominant and it is starting to itch really badly so I took the watch off and I am breaking out with a rash on my other wrist now as well. I contacted FitBit and they will only provide me with a refund but why wouldn't they have a band made out of another material? Did they not think that these bands might cause an allergic reaction? I really do not want to give up my Surge as it works wonderfully with what I do including the texts and phone call notifictions. Am I really going to have to send this back just because they never considered this design flaw?

Welcome to the Forums @Oldschooldrewc! Sorry to hear about what happen with your arm, I hope you're okay. In this case they're right, it's best to stop wearing the band, if for some reason your skin is reacting to it, it's hard to tell why this is happening since other users don't have the same reaction. Smiley Sad

As @SteveH mentioned at this moment we don't have the option to switch the band since this tracker doesn't have that feature. We have exchangeable bands for  the Fitbit Alta, Blaze, Flex, Flex 2 and Charge 2, some of them have the metal and the leather band option, in case that you want to give it a shot, maybe it's something that you can wear.  Smiley Wink

The design is further compromised by the fact that the band can't be changed on the Surge as the electronics are built into it. Returning it would seem to be your only option.
