Make the most out of your new Fitbit

Hi Fitbit Community, 

So, you’ve received a new Fitbit device for the holidays and you're ready to start your fitness journey. We’re here to help you with three quick tips to make the most of your new Fitbit.

Customize your app focus 

The Fitbit app delivers a personalized experience to give you a deeper understanding of your stats and progress while providing insights to help you reach your goals. Customize the app to see the stats that matter most to you. 

The Fitbit app features 3 tabs: Today, Coach, and You. Switch between the tabs to see a full picture of your stats, discover health & fitness content, and connect with the global Fitbit health and fitness community:

  • Today: Take it one day at a time with Today, your health & fitness home screen. Make it your own with customization options that tailors your top stats based on your focus area, whether you want to get more active, sleep better, manage stress, and more. See the progress you’re making with easy-to-read charts and icons that clue you into your exercise over the last day, week, month and year. Check your daily stats, including Active Zone Minutes, steps, distance, calories burned, and more. And check-in on your well being with sleep tracking and your Health Metrics Dashboard.
  • Coach: Inspiration, that extra push and how to pull it all together—it’s all in Coach. Explore your very own library of workout videos with new collections and filters to help you find the perfect session for you. Whether you’re looking to stay fit, eat healthier or sleep better, Coach can help.
  • You: You’re a blend of a thousand things—we keep it all in one place called You. Here, you can update your personal details, adjust your goals, manage connections with friends & family and track your achievements.

Set goals

You can set health and fitness goals to stay motivated, and check your progress throughout the day.

Easily change up your goals in the Fitbit app

  • Tap the You tab 
  • Scroll down to Goals and click See all
  • Choose the desired goal in the list and click on it to edit
  • Edit the value of the desired goal and click Set Goal

Try Fitbit Premium

Take care of yourself and your health with Fitbit Premium, which you can try for free with purchase of a new Fitbit device*. Fitbit Premium is your personalized resource in the Fitbit app that helps you stay active, sleep well, manage stress, and more.

  • Daily Readiness score: Know when you’re ready to work out, and when you should prioritize recovery with a daily readiness score (available on certain devices). For more information, see What’s my daily readiness score in the Fitbit app?
  • Workouts: Access hundreds of video and audio workouts from Fitbit’s expert trainers and popular brands.
  • Sleep: Your typical bedtime fluctuates up to 2 hours during the week. A consistent bedtime can improve sleep quality and help you feel rested. Set a bedtime reminder to keep you on track? Receive personalized insights, your sleep score breakdown, your monthly sleep profile, and a wellness report based on your Fitbit stats.
  • Mindfulness: Practice guided meditations to help with relaxation, sleep, body positivity, and more. Tap the Coach tab  thenMindfulness to get started.
