Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to access the battery information in a 3rd party app?

I have an android phone with a flex and i use an app called automagic which, if i can access fitbit data, will allow me to have a have a notification telling me the flexs battery level.

Any help would be greatly aappreciated.

Thanks Sam.

It is indeed possible, but you'll need to get your hands a bit dirty with the Fitbit API.

Thanks Collin,

I'm not sure how that will work.
Is that for accessing the website data or the data on the app?

Thanks Sam

The developer APIs are for accessing information on Fitbit's server, which contain data as of the most recent sync.  If you are not a developer, it is not for the faint of heart.

Recently, Fitbit also opened up a channel on IFTTT (If This Than That) but I don't think one of the triggers is the battery level.  Otherwise this would be a very easy way to do your own logic when the battery is low.

Other options to consider:

 1) In your settings (website gear icon) visit Notifications > Low Battery and enable SMS or email

 2) At the bottom of each webpage is a link to an App Gallery, one of which is a low battery notifier
