I just got the Charge HR, my first activity tracker. I like it, seems great. One thing I'm trying to learn is the application integration. I use Endomondo to track my walks via gps. I've integrated Endomondo to myfitnesspal which tracks all my calories for me. I've also integrated fitbit to myfitnesspal.
So, when I go for a walk, per the instructions of the Fitbit Charge HR, I hold down the button and let it know I'm exercising. So, what ends up happening is that Endomondo tracks my route for me, uploads it to myfitnesspal, which then uploads it to fitbit. I essentially get two workouts inserted into the Fitbit dashboard which skews the total caloric burn for the day.
It's odd to me that the Fitbit can somehow figure out when you are sleeping (yes, that is cool!), but it can't figure out with the app integration features, it's the same workout and only enter it once.
Yes, I know the Surge has GPS, but I didn't want the Surge in favor of a smaller band of the Charge HR.
What's interesting about the entries is each one has it's advantages. The fitbit entry shows you the total step count, something Endomondo cannot do. However, Endomondo has a route tracking, something I like and would hate to give up.
The workaround for now is to go into the Fitbit site and delete the myfitnesspal exercise entry (which came from Endomondo). A bit of a hassle.
I wondered maybe if the premium feature of Endomondo would be able to link the Fitbit Charge HR tracker to give the most accurate information and eliminate double entry. Just a thought.
Thanks,
Oro

I know what you mean about double posts.
I use Strava to track my walks which gets transferred to MFP. When I do this, I do not push the exercise button on my HR. It's annoying because I lose HR data for my outdoor walks. It's there but not neatly separated. I like Strava because I like to know how long it takes me to walk a mile.
