Calories on Myfitnesspal much higher for same exercise today

I have done the same amount of steps today as yesterday, but the calories adjustment is about 300 higher - too high for the 13,000 steps. Usually get about 500 calories but at the moment it is showing 841 for exercise. Is anyone else seeing this and know how to fix it (apart from adding an extra 300 calories of food on MFP)?
Thanks,
Carole

Hi everybody ! Thank you for your messages and reports.

I've been informed that this should be solved by now.
Please make sure that you have the latest Fitbit and MyFitnessPal apps installed.

Then restart your phone (off/on)

I'm having a similar issue - to add to it though, this morning before I had even hit 700 steps for the day and hadn't even had a workout yet, MyFitnessPal showed that Fitbit has sent over a calorie burn of 1500 calories so far for the day.

Hey!

I would reeeally appreciate any advice on this. I've been using MFP and Fitbit Versa 4 for over a year now.

All of a sudden yesterday the calorie adjustment coming through is incredibly different.

It is around midday and I have been sitting on my bum at work. Fitbit says I have burned 800cal and taken 1500 steps.

Why on earth does it say "based on 1500cal as at 12.12pm"!? when I have not burned anywhere near that..
The full day projection is significantly higher than my usual (2200 ish).

The other option is, maybe I have not been set up correctly this entire time and now it's working correctly? I have no clue and so confused!

I have followed all MFP troubleshooting advice, and also checked that both apps are in the same local time.

I can't think of anything that has changed on my end, I am doing the same as I always do...

Is anybody able to help at all? 🙏

Actually , whoops, even 2200 cal is not representative of my usual - that's a really high burn day for me!

Yes, I am having the same issue.

Just checked this morning and saying I had done 470 steps and a calorie burn of 717! Far too high.

I've had this issue the past couple of days, I've been in contact and apparently they're aware of the problem? So hopefully will be fixed soon

Similar issue the last few days here as well. I woke up with over 1000 calories reported to MFP from Fitbit despite my Fitbit calories only being around 600.

I have the same problem 😞

Thank you - the X/Twitter support has been useless so far today.

Hi All!

So I have a bit of a conundrum. I’ve noticed for the past 2/3 days that my projected calorie burn seems to be completely off track with the Fitbit sync. I don’t have negative calorie adjustments enabled but it seems like something is gone awry.
ive unsynced from my fitness pal and reconnected etc. I’ve done everything I can think of and it’s not fixing the problem. Anyone have any solution?

thank you!

I’ve got the identical problem, also started yesterday. I upgraded my phone yesterday so assumed it was in some way related to that but couldn’t really see why or how. It’s a bit of a relief to find I’m not the only one!

I am having the same issue - there is another thread on this topic but commenting here too to boost the issue.

Whoops, didn't see that, thanks!

Oooh interesting! What version Android? Looks like I'm on 13. I haven't recently updated though.

Weird... but it's a good thing there's more than one of us having issues, hopefully they can replicate it and fix!

Just chiming in to say that I’m having the exact same issue. It on Monday and has been an issue every day since then. My SO just started having the same issue earlier today.

iPhone 12 / Inspire 3. All my apps are set to auto-update so it’s possible MFP or Fitbit updated during this time.

hoping it gets fixed as this is the main reason I use either of these apps 😞

iPhone 15 and Charge. Assumed it had somehow gone wrong with the change of phone, but clearly not!

Update if you cant read the text in my screenshot:

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us and bring this to our attention. Members linked to Fitbit are seeing one of two main issues: 1. No data syncing, or 2. A higher than normal calorie adjustment in MFP, especially first thing in the morning. The calorie burn or estimated total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) seen in the Fitbit app may or may not match the Fitbit calorie burn or estimated TDEE seen within the MFP app.

Fitbit is currently experiencing an incident, stating that "Some users may notice data discrepancies or syncing issues between 3P apps and Fitbit. Our team is currently investigating the root cause of the issue."

Their status page indicates the issue started on 8/30/24, which corresponds to when members started noticing issues within MFP, and started notifying our support team of problems.
