Can I use a 3rd party Bluetooth 4.0 dongle to sync?

I have a generic Bluetooth 4.0 dongle.  I've tried using it to sync with my Fitbit One.  Has anyone else tried to do that?  (successfully?)

You need to use the FB dongle.  fitbit does not work with other blue tooth on a PC/mac.
