I am trying to disconnect my fit bit from my fitness pal and it won’t disconnect. When I click on the disconnect button it just goes back to the screen showing the connected apps. Any idea on how to disconnect it?

Hello @Steffpeck, good to see you again and my apologies for the late response. In order to disconnect MyFitnessPal, you need to revoke the access from your application settings, if this is failing, I'm wondering what you are using? Is the Fitbit app or your online Dashboard?
If this is from your online Dashboard try these steps:
If the issue continue try with a different browser or directly from MFP. For this refer to this post.
Hope this helps, see you until the next opportunity.

There is no such option on settings for Applications. At least not anymore. And I am having the same trouble of not being able to disconnect MFP to FitBit.

Same here!! I am on the Dashboard, and there is no Gear option. Have you resolved this yet?

I've tried going through applications and doing the revoke option. Unfortunately when I go through my applications there are no connected applications shown. I've tried disconnecting through myfitnesspal, but every time I log in it says it is connected again. Any help here would be beneficial to what hair I have left from pulling it out.

What I had to do was: open the FitBit app on my computer, scroll down to "manage data" from the menu on the far left, and THEN there's a "manage 3rd party data" option. Hope that helps!

I've revoked the fitbit access side of things but MyFitnessPal won't disconnect! No matter how many times I try and press disconnect it's back there I've tried on their website but can't honestly find where this setting could possibly be. I can't reconnect it until MyFitnessPal lets me disconnect it 😕

Log in to your profile on MyFitnessPal and then select the Apps tab from the top. Then select "Activity Trackers" from the list on the right. From there, scroll down to the FitBit Tracker app and click on it. It will then allow you to disconnect. Afterwards, reconnect from within the MyFitnessPal app.

I had the same problem & found it would only work when I logged into the web browser. Good luck! The app never disconnects for me.

@SunsetRunner there is a new, ongoing issue with the link to MyFitnessPal that may be affecting you. Keep an eye on the following thread which has the latest updates from Fitbit:

Thank you so much, I had tried everything including uninstalling both apps and reinstalling them. When I disconnected using the browser and my tablet it actually worked . Both apps work perfectly now

This worked perfectly. Finally a correct solution. Do from your computer and then I uninstalled and reinstalled the my fitness app!! Thanks so much. What a hassle after purchasing a new fit bit to get everything to work again!!

Yes and and of all solutions its this one that does work. The final of many issues my Fitbit ionic had was it just died completely at the tender age of 10 months. So claimed a refund, bought a Garmin, logged onto Fitbit account and revoked access to everything with no issue. Happy days.

Everytime I go to reconnect to a new myfitnesspal account it says that it's already connected to an account. I can't access the old account so I have no way to disconnect it from mfp directly

I think I've figured it out!
1. Go to myfitnesspal.com in a browser, not the app! You can do this from your phone but you cannot use the app you must go through the browser to their actual website.
2. Click on "apps" in the blue bar at the top of the page.
3. Click on Fitbit icon, and click disconnect.
4. I then closed the app on my phone, and when I reopened it, Fitbit was no longer linked to my MyFitnessPal account!

I got it. Go to myfitnesspal app. Settings. Change your profile name it will direct you to the website of MFP then in the website
Apps
Find the fitbit tracket in the lower right
Then click and disconnect it.
Done
