I am trying to enable step tracking on Carrot rewards and authorize my Fitbit Charge 2 as the step tracker.
the allowed button is grayed out and cannot authorize.

Hello there @OVic, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community! I was reading your post that is not possible to connect with Carrot Rewards.
I've seen there is an issue with several user that are not able to sync information or have the same grayed out option that doesn't allow to complete the integration with the Dashboard.
The basic recommendation I can provide at the moment is to try with a different device to complete the connection, perhaps to circumvent the issue you are experiencing.
