Charge 4 won't upload to Strava

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had a Charge 2 and synced it to Strava no problem. Every time I finished a run it would automatically upload to Strava which was great. Now with the Charge 4, it says it's synced but it doesn't upload the run to Strava. It means I need to do it manually which defeats the whole purpose.

I've already followed thee following possible solutions several times but it still doesn't work:

  1. Try reconnecting your accounts, syncing your Fitbit tracker, and waiting an hour.
  2. Confirm that you are not recording a duplicate exercise in the Strava app and Fitbit app/device simultaneously.
  3. Confirm that you are recording a GPS exercise if using Fitbit (only exercises with GPS on Fitbit will be sent to Strava).
  4. Confirm that you recorded a new exercise after connecting your accounts (previous exercises won’t be uploaded). You can use the TCX export from Fitbit to upload older exercises manually.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is your recorded run or bike ride recorded with GPS and you see a map?

Your exercise must be recorded and labeled as a run or bike. Outdoor workout, and intervals will not work.

BTW your tracker will not upload to Strava, it V is your fotbit account that the detail to Strava.

Thanks for the reply! As far as I'm aware it does record with GPS but I don't see a map on the tracker if that's what you mean. Also, it is clearly marked as a run.

The map should be found in the Fitbit app.

If you have no map, nothing will be sent to Strava

I'm having this same problem.  I've never seen maps of my run or rides on Fitbit.  Where would they be located?

@njnc let's first set up the Charge 4.

Swipe to settings and tap.

Now swipe up for run and tap.

Now swipe up.

Find GPS and make sure that it is on.

We want to go back one screen, either a tap of the button or a swipe, I'm not sure which.

If you go back to the clock, simply bandaged back to run and this time tap start.

The Charge 4 will search for a gps lock, once found you will feel a vibration..

Now go for your run and make sure you hit stop at the end.

Most of this is explained at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1874.htm

With the Charge 4 we can choose to use the phones GPS or the GPS built into the tracker.

The tracker also has the option to use GPS or the alternate GLONASS ( which I find works better)

Now after the run and a sync, give a minute or two to process. (ok, if server is busy you may have to force a second sync)

On the app, tap the exercise tile, it will say something like 2 of 5 days

You should see an event in the list with a map. Tap this event.
