Hi All,
So i have been through as many questions as i can relating to this but i cant get a clear answer. I have a fitbit Charge 2 and use MFP to log my food. The reason i got the Charge 2 was because of the HR function but unfortunately when i exercise it goes a but haywire and looses my heart rate quite often therefore calories burned are wrong. Luckily I wear an HR monitor synced to a screen at my gym and then i get emailed the details so i use that for my calories burned. As a result, i delete the information from the fitbit app (as it automatically records me doing an exercise, which i have since realised i can stop it doing) and then i log the actuals into MFP. My question is, if i delete the information on the Fitbit app, does it delete the calories burned? So the automatically recorded says i burned 250 but the info from my email says i burned 550. I delete the 250 fitbit entry on the fitbit app, does that then delete the 250 calories burned from my calorie information that fitbit sends over to MFP? Because MFP now has my 550 calories burned that i manually added in and should theoretically only have any extra calories received from steps over and above the estimates. So the question is, does the 250 calories Fitbit recorded still get sent to MFP even though i have deleted the exercise?
My other question is similar - if i stop the automatic recording of exercise on fitbit how does fitbit behave when i exercise? because obviously its going to recognise a heart rate increase and subsequently increase my calories burned in that period, and then send that information to mfp of which i have already logged the activity.
Basically, my fitbit sucks at recording my heart rate and i dont get accurate calories. Is it better for me to edit the exercise in fitbit and let it send the info to MFP rather than delete the fitbit entry and enter it into MFP? Or is it better to take the watch off when i exercise?
Phew! Thank you for your help!!

Welcome to the Forums @kezzle176.
Thanks for including that explanation and letting us know of your situation at the time. Let me help you.
To answer some of your questions, at the time the information is synced over to MFP, anything that is currently on Fitbit will be moved over. That means that if you delete something, it will not be synced over and it will not be counted on MFP.
On your second question, as you mentioned, the Fitbit will recognize the difference in HR and it will track more calories. The main difference here is that the activity will not be logged as such, but the amount of calories burnt should be pretty similar. It will not be exactly the same as if it was being automatically recognized because the Dashboard uses the type of activity to adjust the number of calories burnt, but it should be similar.
Hope this clarifies your question. Let me know if there are any further questions I can help out with.

Hello @kezzle176.
Thanks for your reply.
If you delete the activity, any calories that were tracked differently because of it being an activity will be removed. Meaning, the calories recorded for that time period will count as if you were walking normally (no special modifiers as there are for activities).
Hope this clarifies the situation. Let me know if you still have questions.
