After seeing the doctor I have a renewed desire to get going on many aspects of my health. I am diabetic and was wondering if any of you know of a diabetic app that goes hand in hand with fitbit. I am excited to see that fitbit is working with some diabetic companies to integrate fit bit with their products. Currently I am using Gucose Buddy to track my blood sugar levels and it is a good app, but I ma just wondering if there is something better.
Thanks, Rich

Hi @RichLars,
Great question. Fitbit is actually working with Dexcom on a continuous glucose monitor. Here's the press release for it. No idea when we'll see it, but it's in the works...

Yes! I saw that too. That is great! I am not on a continuous monitor yet, but this shows they are moving in a great direction. I am hoping for a place in the fitbit app where I can keep track of my BG levels and meds.

This link might explain a lot. I'd be willing to say Fitbit is more focused on integrating with this start-up than they are with Dexcom at this point, which is why we've had no action. I seriously doubt that they will ever integrate with Dexcom after reading this.

Hi,
I was looking for some info regarding managing my diabetic condition.
I'm using BLG Predict now, and that works great.
Saves me a lot of pinches in the fingers and gives me a prediction of my BLG.
I just asked the Q on this forum about push messages regarding to this app.
I'm asking because i'm using the FB Charge now and getting the push messages would help me a lot managing my BGL.
Hope I can upgrade my FB and don't have to go for an AppleWatch.
But Regarding the app, try BLG predict, it calculates also your bolus units.
you will love it!
Cheers, Mayco

I now use the FB Charge 3 and love it.
Get a message from my BGL managing app Predict BGL and has a longer battery life the the first charge HR.
Love the new sleep monitor!

Hi @RichLars,
Yes it works with Dexcom, but that not supported by my insurance.
It will cost me € 3604,- p/year.
Great system but not affordable, for me that is.
I use the next best thing, in my opinion.
Predict BGL calculates, predict and much more.
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
M

As has been said before Diabetes:m is a good diabetes app and syncs exercise, sleep and weight with the fitbit. MyNetDiary does the same syncing but also does water and food syncing.

My goodness! I have been such a slacker! Thanks to all who have contributed.
Just an update on my progress or lack thereof. With many life events I have put my diabetes efforts on the back burner. A little less than two years ago I had Gastric surgery which was great for my BG levels, temporarily. During the two weeks before and a few months after, I was completely off medication and doing great. Then while trying to stick to low carbs it started creeping back up. Then I lost enthusiasm and while not gaining any weight back, my BG is out of control again even with being back on meds.
I have long played Santa and with my weight loss I have had to start wearing a Santa belly under my suit. But with my regular job at 40 hours per week and nearly that many as Santa I let my regimen slip and today while attending a funeral I got sick, dizzy and nauseous. My wife rushed me home and my BG was at 538. Ouch!!!!
OK time to get back on track. I had intentions of this earlier and upgraded my Charge 2 to a Versa 2 but it was DOA. Now the replacement should be here Monday and I am excited to study up on your suggestions and get going again.
So here is a list of things I need to address.
I have a terrible sweet tooth. Does it ever go away? First step goal is to not eat candy of ANY kind.
I have an addiction to Diet Dr. Pepper. Going cold turkey on soda. Lots of water!!!!!!
I am a horrible grazer. I want to cut out snacks altogether. Goal is to take a big drink of water when I get the urge to snack.
I have a lot of goals in mind, but I want to attack them gradually. My tendency is to make too many goals, get overwhelmed and then give up on all of them.
From here I am going to check out all the suggestions you all mentioned. Thanks again for all of your contributions.
Rich

In my renewed investigation I found the following article.....

But I don't seem to be able to find the community they are taking about.
