Difference calories Fitbit Charge 2 & MyFitnessPal

I followed all Helena's steps to link Fitbit to MyFitnessPal without any problem. I want to loose a few kg weight and for the time being eat 1200 calories a day (as calculated by MFP). I wear my fitbit to track my steps, stairs etc.

But today, at the and of the day, my MFP display says this:

1200 (goal) - 1401 (actual intake) + 386 (activity) = 185
(185 is in green as in 'within limits')

On my FitBit, however, it says I am 202 calories over.

I am confused which one to use as guidance. I didn't exercise much today, but it seems MFP and FitBit don't calculate 'activity' in the same manner? Or is there something I do wrong?

Thank you for your advice, because I really want to use my apps and FitBit in the right manner.

Have you read https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Third-Party-Apps-Integrations/MyFitnessPal-How-to-correct-calorie-di...

Personally I would choose the one your more familiar with and ignore the recommendations of the other.

Thank you for your reaction. I have read that and adjusted the settings as suggested. But my confusion is about this line:

"Both calorie displays will still update depending on your tracked activity and food intake, but there will be just one goal for you to strive and reach."

This is not the case. Today MFP says:
1200 (goal) + 1273 (actual intake) + 629 (activity) = 556 (in green)

In other words, I burned extra calories so can eat a little extra.

However, on Fitbit, where the goal is now also set to 1200, it says 72 cals over (in red). So it seems as though my activity is not tracked...
