Do I understand correctly - Using Fitbit with Map My Run and MyFitnessPall

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I think I get it but just want to be sure - I just got a fitbit charge hr so I am learning.

I can connect my fitbit account with my Map My Run account but if I record a workout in fitbit, the only thing that will come over to Map My Run is steps. So for example if I want my 2 mile run to show up in Map My Run, it will not.

I can connect my fitbit account with Myfitnesspal but the only thing that will come over to my fitness pal steps and a calorie adjustment?

So if I want to have my workout show up correct in map my run or my fitness pal, I pretty much have to log it in map my run (which does update myfitnesspal for me), but then what is the point of having the apps be connected with fitbit?  Won't I be getting credit for the same workout twice in Fitbit?  Also, this means I sitll have to carry my phone around to log the activities and track with my fitbit as well?

A warm welcome to the Forums @jenn11411. Let me help you with your inquiries about MMR and MFP accounts.

With MapMyRun you will be able to import your steps from your Fitbit tracker to this account. To connect the account you just need to do the following:

  1. Log into MapMyRun.
  2. Click the Improve tab and then select Device Connect.
  3. Find Fitbit on the list and click the Connect button. You're taken to fitbit.com.
  4. Log in with your Fitbit credentials.
  5. Go back to MapMyRun and go to your workout dashboard.
  6. Click the Import Workouts button
  7. Next to Fitbit click the Sync button. One month of your step history will be imported.

About MyFitnessPal, once connected you will be able to view the foods and activities that you log on your MyFitnessPal account on your Fitbit Dashboard. From the "Check In" section of your MyFitnessPal account, you will see the steps taken and sleep tracked by your Fitbit device.

You will also see a calorie adjustment from Fitbit. Whenever MyFitnessPal receives calorie burn data from your Fitbit Tracker, it compares that to the projected calorie burn for your account and adjusts your calorie goal accordingly. To setup this account, do the following:

  1. Log into MyFitnessPal and click Apps.
  2. In the App Gallery, find Fitbit and click Connect.
  3. Click Allow to give MyFitnessPal access to your Fitbit data.
  4. Follow the instructions provided.

I hope this helps, see you soon. Woman Happy

I must be immensely dense I feel like I've connected in all directions but cannot find the 'import workout' function. I have done it on my Fitbit but want to put that into MapMyRun. Cheers
