Does the Flex record an elliptical work out?

Does the flex record an eliptical work out? Also when exercising running or treadmill it count your steps but what about the intensity of the work out when I have it linked to my fitness pal? Calories burned etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thank you!

The trackers also need to sense forward movement. I would leave it off and manually log the activity. The trackers without a heart rate monitor have no way of tracking intensity.

@Debbie48 I believe it depends on how you use the elliptical.  I use the handbars and push and pull at the same time.  I went back to when I had a Flex and was on an elliptical for about 45 min.  Steps shown below:

I try to keep the RPM at about 65 so that would give me about 130 steps per minute which comes up quite nicely.  Calories shown below:

I was credited with about 8-9 calories per minute which I think is pretty good.

 

I believe the relative acceleration and deceleration of my hand on the handbars lets the unit know the effort was not just a rapid walk.
