I realized this same issue this week when using my new FitBit with MapMyRun. I, like you, am avid
MapMyRun user and noticed the double logging of mileage when FitBit data imports to MapMyRun.
I would confirm your suspicion and disagree with that link from maymyfitness....it is definetly a bug, data is being counted twice via linked accounts. The entire point of the linking of accounts is to have common data, not overlapping.
This can't be that uncommon of an issue that there isn't a solution? During sync from FitBit to MMR it should look at time of activities logged and not count mileage/steps/cals if there are overlapping times. Seems easy to do?
EXAMPLE:My Fitbit has data from 1pm-2pm for 5 miles, mapmyrun has data from 1pm -2pm for 4.5 mile run, only import the .5 miles from fitbit for this time period.....
I sent MMR an email and got this response :
Alexe Klein (Help & Support) Jul 24 12:11 Hi Thomas, To prevent duplicate recordings you will need to only use one device to record your mileage. Because your accounts are linked, the workout will then be synced over. Best, Alexe |

 | TSkaff Jul 23 14:38 Wondering how to have linked accounts (fitbit and mapmyrun) and not count same workout twice? I use map my run for my runs but also wearing fitbit at same time. So at end of day the fitbit stats count the mileage from the run and also MapMyRun counts the mileage in a workout. |
