Exercise MyFitnessPal is synced to Fitbit doesnt apply to Adjustment

HI,

Hopefully I can explain this.

My setup is:

MyFitnessPal

-Log food and non walking related activities like Yoga and Weight Training

-Have setup for Fitbit adjustment, positive only

Fitbit

-Track steps and other activity

-Syncs total calorie burn etc. to MFP

Issue:

When I log an exercise is MFP it does show up in Fitbit however it doesnt seem to contribute to Fitbit's total calories. e.g. Fitbit expect me to burn 2500 calories based on my current activity level which gives me 150 extra calories in MFP. I then add a weight workout in MFP which gives me 180 calories. The adjustment from Fitbit becomes 0. In fitbit I can see the Weight session but my total calories burned expectation obviously has not changed.

Should the exercises I enter in MFP be contributing to this? If I log exercise in Fitbit and not in MFP will it correctly adjust my Fitbit data and thus make it more correct in MFP?

Thanks

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @mickmok! You will also see a calorie adjustment from Fitbit. Whenever MyFitnessPal receives calorie burn data from your Fitbit Tracker, it compares that to the projected calorie burn for your account and adjusts your calorie goal accordingly.

Keep in mind that if you sync your Fitbit at 11:00 AM, MyFitnessPal will only have information about your Fitbit calorie burn data through 11:00 AM that day. If only a partial day's worth of data is available, MyFitnessPal will combine the actual data from your Fitbit with an estimate of your calorie burn for the remainder of the day based on the daily activity level you selected when creating your MyFitnessPal account. This allows MyFitnessPal to create a more accurate estimate for your daily calorie burn based on the best data they have available from your Fitbit tracker at that time.

Have a nice Friday!

Hi,

Thanks but this doesnt really answer my question. If I log exercise in MFP... when it comes across to Fitbit (as if I logged the exercise in Fitbit's evercise logging) does Fitbit then use those calories for its estimation?

For e.g. say its 11AM and based on my steps/activity it thinks I will burn 2500 calories.

I enter a workout in MFP for 300 calories, it then shows up in Fitbit; does fitbit then add those extra 300 calories to its own estimate? And then correctly sync back to MFP?

Because currently in MFP I could have an 80 calorie positive adjustment from Fitbit, I then enter an evercise for 180 calrories in MFP and the 80 that was there before it removed (I have negative adjustments off in MFP). I would assume that I should keep the 80 from Fitbit and also have the 180 added as that is in addition to the Fitbit's estimate. I think Fitbit should be taking into account the workouts I am logging in MFP in its own estimation.

Does that make sense?
