FitStar -> FitBit -> My Fitness Pal

After 10 successful months using Weight Watchers and FitBit Flex I decided to move to a Charge HR, My Fitness Pal and FitBit's new acquisition FitStar. Think I may be regretting the move.

I have FitStar updating FitBit and then tthe data is sent to MFP. My thinking was that activity would be logged in FB and food in MFP and all would lead to a beautiful homogenous weight loss plan. I don't think it's working

The counts for active minutes and calories burned in FS seem to be almost doubled in FB. Also FS and FB don't seem able to co-ordinate elevated heart rates as being the FS workout hence inflated active minutes. I read somewhere, I believe to be an old post, about editing the workout in FB. Not possible, all that's available is to delete the workout.

Can someone please set me straight on integrating these three programs?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

In the meantime, I'm heading out to get a big bag of chips to enjoy my new found calorie deficit before I  lose it. 🙂

I ran into a similar problem connecting these services in a three-way pairing - My FitStar workouts would get recorded in FitBit and in MyFitnessPal, which would then copy it a second time to FitBit. The simplest solution I found is to decide which out of FitBit / MFP is your main / hub service, and pair everything to that but not to each other.

So in my case, I have MFP and FitStar linked to FitBit, but FitStar and MFP are not linked. MFP can still see the 'calories burned' count from FitBit to make dietary adjustments though, so it all works out.
