Fitbit Activity Tracking vs Endomondo Workout

hello,

I have connected my Fitbit to myfitnesspal and endomondo. I track my daily run in endomondo which transfers to fitbit and then to MFP. I noticed that the Fitbit app itself has a track activity option which also uses GPS to track the run.

How is Fitbit app's activity tracking different from Endomondo? If my purpose is only running or walking can I ditch Endomondo and rely completely on the fitbit app? I dont see any reason to use endomondo anymore unless someone can give me any reasons to continue using it.

Cheers,

Imran

You can keep Endomondo if you ever want to add other kinds of workouts.  I have used both as Premium members.  FitBit used to import circuit training or cycling, etc,, but now it doesn't, so I stopped using Endomondo for now.  The FitBit app for Apple users is pretty buggy when it comes to foods, but the GPS tracking for running and walking works well. If that is all you are going to do you can delete Endomondo, or just switch to the free ver in case you change your mind.

Good luck.

the problem i have with endomondo is that when its workouts are imported in fitbit they show zero steps but the distance and calories etc are imported fine.

Do you have the problem whereby the Endomondo miles are ADDED to the Fitbit miles and not just registered as endomondo workout? So for example today I have walked 8.4 miles as shown on my fitbit. I set Endomondo going on a walk of about 5 miles today. My Dashboard has added the mileage together and says I have walked 13 miles today which is wrong.

make sure the timezones in both applications are synced. if you are using myfitnesspal too then make sure everything is not connected to everything. you can either have fitbit connected to endomondo and mfp (but not mfp and endomondo connected to each other) or you can have mfp in the middle.

the time zones of all apps need to be same and then any workouts in endomondo will overwrite the activity tracked during the same time duration in fitbit. so for instance if you walked from 4PM to 5PM and fitbit reports 300 calories burned but endomondo reports 350 so fitbit will start showing 350 calories burned since its coming from endomondo.
