Fitbit, Strava and My Fitness pal (MFP)

I have the fitbit blaze but I have both strava and MFP connected to it as well as Strava connected to MFP and it looks like it could be doubling entry. When I do a run or a walk I register this on my watch and it then auto updates onto strava with the GPS however it looks like I have double entries from MFP and from the fitbit in my fitbit app. Has anybody got all 3 of these apps connected to their Fitbit Blaze and got any recommendations for what way I should be using it. I want everything documented like my runs and walks on strava but I want to see these on my fitbit too so I can check the heart rate zones and log miles etc.

Thanks

Welcome aboard to our Community @jamiec7. It might be kind a tricky since your apps are integrated to each other. My recommendation is to log your exercise using only one app. If you used the frequently the GPS then the best option is to log exercise on your Strava and MFP to log specifically food. If any of your activities is logged on Strava or MFP or even if your tracker is automatically recognizing your exercise it will cause a duplicate activity. So is recommend to be extra careful at the moment to log activities that do not cross with the time of other activities coming from other app.

So you can have a better idea, this is how each one of the apps work:

MyFitnessPal

What syncs?
Fitbit > Steps > MFP
Fitbit > Calories > MFP
Fitbit > Aria measurements > MFP
MFP > Logged food > Fitbit
MFP > Activities > Fitbit

With Strava, Fitbit activities will appear on Strava, and your runs and rides tracked by Strava will contribute to your Fitbit all-day stats. Keep in mind that the following types of activities won't sync to Strava:

  • Non-GPS activities
  • Previously completed activities
  • Duplicate activities—that is, if you already recorded an activity with Strava, a Fitbit activity that occurs at the same time won't sync.

Hope this information helps and let me know if you have more questions.
