Fitbit Calories to MyFitnessPal

Hi,

So I understand that Fitbit won't push activites from their ecosystem to MFP with minutes and activites. But I understand calories will move over by way of Fitbit Calorie Adjustments. So how do I get all Fitbit calories to MFP. Is there not a way to get total calories burned as Fitbit Calories Adjustments to MFP without manually entering and deleting entries from Fitbit? It sounds like my current option is to only log manual entries of time and calories burned as displayed by my Surge?

If MyFitnessPal says 2460 calories burned overall a day. Should I set my calories burned the same in Fitbit to make sure that I reach 1) calories burned a day. 2) any calories burned over that amount like running, walking, weights, etc get added to my adjustment in MFP? Example... I reached my 2460 just for being alive. Then I run about 400 calories I would have burned 2860 calories. Will the adjustment of 400 then show up on MFP since I burned over the overall day burn?

I'm sure Fitbit wants me to use their ecosystem but that's not going to happen. I've lost 50 pounds with MFP I'm definitely not switching. Maybe Fitbit products and apps aren't right for me other than step counting? I may be returning my Surge and going back to the Flex for just step counting if that's the case. This is completely my fault for not reading into this more and assuming. Sorry! But thanks for any responses!

@xTHENKx Thanks for reaching out. I'd like to start by saying thank you, especially for your interest in Fitbit and the interaction between your MyFitnessPal account and Fitbit account.

In order to answer your questions, I think it would be better if I can explain with details how the Fitbit Calorie Adjustment work. As you may know, this is a result of a difference in calorie estimations between Fitbit and MFP. The adjustment represents calories burned above MFP's estimate and it will update each time Fitbit syncs. A negative adjustment will occur if you are less active than expected.

Most users prefer to log activities from MFP to Fitbit to get accurate information regarding distance and calories burned. This article emphasizes that you can use the exercise mode in your Surge or add activities in your account for accuracy, but of course, it's your decision.

My humble opinion is that Fitbit trackers and the apps are designed to provide the most complete pictuyre of your overall health, so for that reason we recommend using a tracker or scale and website (or apps) together. Obviously, according to your needs and preferences, you can use third party apps that will help you to get more accurate information or they will provide you with extra features that will complete this overall picture.

Let me know if there is a restlessness that is not fully clarified, I will be happy to help you Smiley Very Happy
