I've been a Endomondo and MyFitnessPal user for a while and have those two services connected so that my excercise tracked in Endomondo informes MyFitnessPal of estimated calories burned.
I just got a FitBit and have now connected it with both Endomondo and MFP. Cool that all three talk to each other except now I'm afraid I'll start to see duplicate data. For example, if I track a run in Endomondo, which is then shared with MFP and FitBit and the steps are also tracked by the FitBit, and then MFP shares that workout with FitBit, could I potentially be see the same exercise logged 3 times in FitBit?
What are the best practices for sharing data between multiple apps? So far I like the capabilities of each app and don't want to give up one just to prevent duplication.

I would like to know the answer to this question as well. It looks like I am getting multiple entries for the same activities in my fitbit activity log. I unlinked my accounts for now to remidy this problem. Is there anyway to match/group the same activities together to avoid multiple entries?

I have just got mine today and was wondering about this too. From reading other posts dotted about and piecing together information, it sounds like the best way might be something like this:
Step One:
Disconnect Everything > Connect Endomondo to MyFitnessPal > Connect MyFitnessPal
to FitBit. [Note: Do not connect endomondo to fitbit]
Step Two:
Wear Fitbit 24/7 EXCEPT when doing a run. Before each run, take Fitbit off/put it to sleep and use only Endomondo. Put Fitbit back on when you have finished your run.
Logically, this should mean: When you log your food in MyFitnessPal, this will sync it to Fitbit. When you run using Endomondo this will sync to MyFitnessPal which will in turn sync to Fitbit.
Give it a go and see how it works for you...I will get mine set up tonight.

I do something similar to what BeardedCraig suggeted except I connect both MFP and Endomondo to Fitbit, but not to each other. Fitbit then takes what I do in Endomondo and keeps the steps from counting twice and and reports the activity calories to MFP.
How I use each site:
MFP - Food tracking
FitBit - General dashboard and activity tracker
Endo - Tracking of Outdoor GPS activites

hi aspenwind.... i want to use my apps the way you have described.
I am new to fitbot, but have been using MFP & Endo for quite a while.
Do you take your fit off while you are using endo?
I have a heart rate monitor that connects to Endo, so the calories burned are going to be more acurate in Endo than my fitbot flex while exercising, so I want to use the endo calorie count for exercise & the fitbot calorie count for the rest of the day.
thanks

You can wear your fitbit during if you connect FB to Endo and MFP. Since both Endomondo and Fitbit know what time you're exercising when the Endo activity gets imported to FB your steps recorded during that time periord are ignored. Then the data gets passed to MFP with your calorie totals.
If you are mostly concerned about your calorie count in MFP then you could do what the earlier post suggested and link MFP to both FB and Edno then take off your fitbit during endo exercises.
It really depends on if you want your primary site to be MFP or FB. Just don't connect all three services in a circle, that is when things get ugly.

I don't know about Endomondo, but I wear my Fitbit while using Runkeeper. Runkeeper is my main source of data that gets to Fitbit via MFP. The Fitbit tracks steps. After the run, I delete the Fitbit activity and allow the Runkeeper data to remain in my Fitbit activity log. When you delete the Fitbit generated activity, your steps remain.

I have my apps set up as follows: Endomondo and MFP are linked and then Fitbit and MFP are linked.
How do I make sure all three are talking to each other and I am not duplicating anything.
Should I have Endomondo and Fitbit and then MFP and fitbit linked?
I would like to have all three apps linked together but not sure if that will cause a duplication of numbers?
This reall does not to get explained better. Too much confusion with the linking of apps. Please help.
Thanks.
