Fitbit and MFP working together

Hi there!

I'm a brand new Fitbit Flex user (day 2!) and I am curious about the best way to work FitBit and My Fitness Pal together.  I have them set up to sync, so I'm comfortable with tracking my food through MFP and letting it sync to my FitBit dashboard.  My real question is regarding exercise.

I work out 2 days a week with a personal trainer.  We do a combination of weight lifting, isometric work, crossfit stuff.  Am I better off tracking that through MFP where I can get a better calorie estimate, or figuring out how to piece it together through Fitbit?  I can't seem to figure out how to properly track activities other than walking/running through Fitbit.  I also don't want to double count anything through syncing the two aps.

Any advice for a newbie?  Thanks!

I'm not sure there is a right or wrong way to do this. Some people log activities into MFP, others, like me, like to record all activities into fitbit. As far as I know the calorie calculations are similar so it comes down to preference. I like to keep things simple so I use MFP just for food and fitbit just for activity.

For activities that are not predominantly step based you can manually log them into fitbit using this procedure:
