Fitbit and MyFitnessPal Calorie burned adjustments

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I need help understanding why my calories burned decreases on my Fitbit after I input my activity in MyFitnessPal.

After my exercise is tracked in my Fitbit, I enter those burned calories in MFP. When I go back to my Fitbit, the calories burned are decreased sometimes by 100. I am not sure what is happening. Is it also looking at food intake? I need help understanding. I am only two weeks into having my Fitbit HR, so any explanation would help.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums @JoniAcuff! I'm also a MyFitnessPal user and I'll be glad to help on this. Smiley Happy

I have seen this situation happen whenever both accounts don't have the same caloric budget to work with; so I recommend to disable Fitbit's Food Plan and add your MFP caloric budget as a main calorie goal. Here are the steps on how to do it.

Also, please note that all food and water logs must be added through MyFitnessPal and all steps, non step based workouts and other activities must be logged through Fitbit. This will prevent double logging and losing the details of your existing logs.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions Cat Very Happy
