Did you mean:

Fitbit didn't detect swim, but MyFitnessPal did

Hi all,

I went for an indoor swim today, was swimming without any break for about an hour (freestyle). In my dashboard, I see the following:

So, apparently, the swim has been correctly detected by my Charge 3 (I wanted to test autodetection). However, it has been logged from MFP (and when I go to MFP, I can see it actually comes from Endomondo!). Wtf happended there? When I click on this swim log in Fitbit app, I can only see my HR (with quite some errors but that's understandable) and calories burned. Now, these are my issues:

1. My burned calories in time appear to be constant (which is stupid, as the band has my HR data during the workout...);

2. I cannot see the distance I swam;

3. My swim certainly was no leasure swim, I swam at least 2.5 km during that hour.

Lack of adjusted calories and HR practically makes this swim-log useless.

Can someone explain me what happened and what am I doing wrong? Should I disconnect endomondo from MFP and Fitbit (I actually don't need it anymore, since I have the fitbit app now). Maybe it has a higher priority than fitbit workout and thus was logged instead of the fitbit one, which would have come with nice calories graph and swam distance (that is what I want and the reason why I bought this band!) ??

Very dissapointed for now 😞

@MaciejG It's nice to see you around. Sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for the screenshot shared and the details mentioned. Thank you for sharing how this situation has made you feel.

Endomondo and MyFitnessPal will sync activities to Fitbit. However, Fitbit won't sync activities to those accounts, it's pretty weird that you're not seeing the swimming activity tracked by your Fitbit but instead you're seeing the activity from MyFitnessPal.

I would like you to confirm you've added swimming as an activity to be detected by your Charge 3. It seems that your swimming activity could have been manually logged in MFP and then it was transferred to Fitbit.

You may want to check this post to learn about the data that will sync from MyFitnessPal to Fitbit and from Endomondo to Fitbit or viceversa.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
