Fitbit says MyFitnessPal account already linked

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

A while ago I deleted the MyFitnessPal account I had paired to my Fitbit. Before I deleted it I believed I had unpaired it from Fitbit.  I have subsequently started a new MFP account but it won't pair as Fitbit says I already have an account paired & can only have one.  I can't see anything in my settings to enable me to sort this out, any advice would be gratefully accepted, I don't want to have log everything twice! Many thanks.

@Fit2Sing A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for getting in touch about this.

I appreciate that you mentioned you had a MyFitnessPal account before. Please make sure there's no MyFitnessPal account linked to your Fitbit account by doing the following:

  1. From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the gear icon

    Settings > Applications.

  2. Click Revoke Access to disconnect any MyFitnessPal account from your Fitbit account.

Let me know how the troubleshooting goes. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Hi! I've been getting that same message for days finally we figured it out thanks to my husband lol. I had an old MyFitnessPal account and I would login using my Facebook login so even though I hadn't use that in quite some time that's the one that was still connected to Fitbit. If you have an old MyFitnessPal account you may want to try logging in with that and seeing if that account is the one connected to Fitbit. If so you can continue using that 4 you could try deleting that account on MyFitnessPal and using the new one you created to try and link to Fitbit. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the suggestion, I tried this (revoking access) but it didn't work, I still get the same message.  I also can't log in to the old mfp account as it was deleted & when I log in it only takes me to my new account. I think I'll just have to resign myself to having two separate platforms! I'm very grateful for the guidance & that you took the time to try & help, it is much appreciated.

@Fit2Sing Thank you for getting back.

I appreciate that you mentioned you're still receiving the same error message when trying to link both accounts. In this case, I highly recommend contacting MyFitnessPal to confirm that your previous account was deleted and that you only have one account.

Also you could double check which third-party apps have been linked to Fitbit by visiting your settings and then applications.

Let me know how the troubleshooting goes. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
