Fitbit won't sync activity to MyFitnessPal

NO matter if I go through MFP or Fitbit I cannot get my exercise data to import from Fitbit to MFP. MFP ultimately gives me a message "To connect your FitBit account please allow MyFitnessPal to access all FitBit data points.  I am just trying to get the exercise data imported into MFP.  In my FitBit account I see that MFP is connected and the only option is to revoke access.  I did that once and tried to reconnect. Can anyone help? All the other posts relating to this issue are different than what I am experiencing.

Note that only steps from your Fitbit will sync to your MyFitnessPal account.
