Flex is inaccurate with mapmyfitness

I just walked 2.51 miles and mapmyfitness says I walked 2.51 miles and 5661 steps. Yet my Fitbit flex shows I have walked 1.93 miles for the whole day so far and only 4609 steps. Which one is correct??

Welcome to the Fitbit Family @Kristifitz925. I would recommend revoking the access between Fitbit and MyFitnessPal here. Then, please link them once again. Additionally, you can set or make sure you have followed these instructions to set your stride length. Let me know how it goes.

I moved this thread to the Dashboard board because it's more related to the topic. Catch you later. Smiley Very Happy

The tracking GPS on my fitbit flex is inaccurate.  When I go walking my flex records more mileage than I am actually walking.   I have recorded my walks with Runkeeper and I have even driven my route to double check.  The GPS is not correct, they have sent me 2 new fitbits but it is still wrong.

Has anyone out there compared their mileage with another program?  I have adjusted my stride and done all of the steps the fitbit company has recommended.   I also counted steps as recommended and

my steps are short.    I am wondering if this is not worth the money spent!

@Kiehl6 I'm not sure what you mean by the GPS on your Flex is not accurate, I'm confused because the Flex does not have a GPS. I believe you are referring to the GPS in your phone and the Fitbit app.

But you might be comparing the step count the Flex recorded, and the miles Fitbit calculated to the miles mapmyrun says you've gone. If this is the cart haver you set up your  yet?

The flex app on my phone has the tracking, which uses GPS, it is not correct.

I see the confusion we are having, when using the GPS on the Fitbit App, the Flex has nothing to do with the distance measured. The distance is down in the phone.

Can I assume you have an Android phone? The is a conversation going on, on this subject in the Android Board. I would read the first post.
