Has anybody tried achu app yet?

The app claims sickness prediction, the catch is you have to get sick first and log it into your Fitbit. I am liking the watch face but has anybody gotten sick yet to know if it is accurate?

I have not. What I have noticed with the resting heart rate is that the RHR gives me early warning of colds/flu. The RHR is sensitive to my mental state as well. It goes up 3-5 points when I have to stay at a hotel or if I have something important coming up the next few days. I have noticed a steady rise up to 10 or so points in a couple of days when I have the beginnings of the cold/flu.  I don't know what other metrics achu uses to make their prediction.

I think you need a lot more vital signs measured to figure out whether you are getting sick. Things like temperature, saturation, blood pressure - having all of it I think you could use AI algorithms to predict potential sickness ( and need a lot more data for ML ). Fitbit has just HR. It's not enough. I wouldn't trust it too much and for sure wouldn't call in off-sick in advance because my watch says I'm gonna be sick :D. My HR can change just because I had greasy pizza for dinner, had a rough night with not much sleep or my body tells me I need rest after a chain of workouts.

Achu doesn't appear to be available in the UK yet.

That is fair, I am going to try it, I now just have to get sick first but am in no rush to do so.

@sjary I'm in the UK I'm not using the watch face but downloaded the app for Android several days ago. You have to check in every day to report your general condition and any symptoms you may have so the App can learn. My freind @N8teGee also based in the UK is using Achu too.

It seems to take a few days before it starts providing a percentage. Mine did the same to start with.

I was able to get the app to work without the use of downloading the ache app for android.  I have an iPhone.  Essentially, once you add the face to your watch you then have to go back to your smartphone, tablet, or Fitbit desktop to finish registering with achu.  You scroll down on your phone and there is a settings position you must go to.  Under that, there is a register button, it takes you to a webpage, and then you can register with Achu.  Once you finish, the Fitbit app takes you back to the watch face page and updates it.  It essentially then tells you that the app won't be able to accurately predict sickness until you report getting sick.  At that point it begins to analyze your stats and then can make future predictions.  During the registration process, you also have to allow Achu to access your Fitbit stats.  If you don't do that, it won't work.

I have it and I use a Samsung Galaxy. I can't get it to authorize and now it has an achu authorize "on invalid date". Will give this a day or so more to see what happens before I delete.

You might have to delete it and try again

I was able to successfully authorize Achu and have been using it for about a month.  Everything seems to be working fine, except:  It asks me to rate my overall sense of well being in the middle of the night.  I cannot figure out if there is any way to stop this annoying feature!  Basically, when I wake up in the night and check my watch for the time, there are two questions related to how I'm feeling - energy level and something else.  I then have to "X" out of the questions in order to see the time.  It seems to me that this would be useful data to capture when calculating my health risk, but I can't accurately answer the questions at 2AM!  I contacted Achu "customer support" a few days ago, but have not received a reply.  Can anyone help with this annoying problem?

Yeah, it usually asks you the first thing in the morning or later during the day.  It must think you are waking up to start your day.  I'm not sure how you change that.  But I believe you are supposed to do an assessment every day so the app learns how to accurately predict your score for getting a cold.

@SoulCycleOpera From my understanding the daily check up triggers at 00:00 which can't be changed. if you use the app rather than the watchface you will need to enter the app for it to trigger. However, sickness symptoms can be reported at anytime during the 24 hour period.

I have tried it... It reported a 65% risk level a few weeks ago but I felt fine. Thinking it wasn't accurate, I quit using the app. A few days later I was sick. Thinking of giving it another try.

On another note, I have seen it reported that some fitbits have an oxygen level sensor that is not being used but there are plans...

@SunsetRunner I'm sure Achu will take time to learn the trends from the data that is collected and processed. I was sick at the beginning of the new year and am still recovering. My current risk level is 67% but was as high as 87%. I do think we will all need to give it longer ensuring we check in with it every day to report how we are feeling for it to learn and  I wouldn't discount the overall accuracy at this early stage of using it.
