Hevy Strength Training App

I have wanted to find a beginner strength training app to use with my Google Pixel Watch 3.

I tried Fitbod, Alpha Progression. Both seem helpful and good. No issue.

In a third attempt I am trying Hevy.  It's working well for me.  I don't know what I wanted at first but now having gone through the first two I get how Hevy is a good fit with my Pixel Watch 3/Fitbit.

  • It has an actual Wear OS app, and I use that without having to have my phone in my hand
  • It nicely syncs the full details of the workout directly to Strava
  • It syncs directly to Health Connect and that super basic information is then available to Fitbit or anything else.
  • It has a web interface to build workout for my use, and also to look at results.

Fitbod and Alpha Progression are both good, and with an iPhone or not wanting any web interface they could be the best for you.  With a Pixel Watch on Fitbit, Hevy has clicked all of the boxes I need.

Any other ideas for a candidate app for me to try?

The Hevy app for tracking strength training and weightlifting is still working well for me.

They have a "Wear OS" app, so the app is actually on my Pixel Watch 3, and I don't carry my phone around with me while I'm working out. That is the game changer, I don't want to have my phone sitting next to me on the ground when I'm doing bench press.

At the end of the free two week period, I just paid the annual subscription fee to them, and I am in for a year using my Pixel Watch 3 and this Wear OS app in my gym.
