Trying to get the different apps to sync together so that my food intake does not have to be typed in twice a day. they all seem to talk when it comes to exercise, but not on my food counts. is there any way to fix this? Or maybe did i do something wrong when i set them up? Only had fitbit for 10 days, already down 2 pounds so i want to keep using it, just trying to get some info so I can get all the apps to be friendly.

trying to get the three apps to sync food information, and for some reason myfitnesspal does not seem to want to work correctly, anyone have any ideas, or maybe can tell me what i did wrong?

@Lucian Hey there! Well, personally I should have just two apps linked because you use MFP to log food and MapMyFitness has the option to either track runs or walks using a GPS or log food as well. So, it's better if you log food in MapMyFitness instead of logging into MFP.
In case you still want to have the three apps synced, confirm if you did this procedure to set up both accounts. Additionally, you may want to check this post that tells you what is going to sync to MapMyFitness.

I don't mean to highjack this thread, but my issue is with workouts. I've successfully connect my Fitbit (Surge) account to MapMyFitness and MyFitnessPal.
However, the workouts recorded on my Fitbit are not migrating to MapMyFitness. I've posed the question for help on all three discussion forums without any helpful responses. Any advice? I'm beginning to think that the capability doesn't exist, which will likely cause me to return the Surge.

@gbel1975 Hey there! Currently, Fitbit will sync just steps and calories to MyFitnessPal. You're not going to see the whole exercise that you tracked using your Surge. In MFP you'll see the total amount of steps that you've done in Fitbit but you won't see every exercise that you've done using your Surge.
MyFitnessPal will sync food and activities to Fitbit. You can see the picture below to see how Fitbit stats will show in MFP.

Thanks for your response. I know the MFP will just do the calorie adjustment, which is fine. I don't track my exercises in MFP.
What I meant to ask, and I realize I was unclear, was about MapMyFitness (MMF). The workouts aren't migrating to that website/app. Only steps and distance. I track all of my runs, including GPS-based maps, in MMF. I have only used my surge for treadmill runs and some other workouts, but none of them have migrated.
When I view the instructions on how to link at http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/Can-I-connect-my-MapMyRun-and-Fitbit-accounts, the page says "Import Workouts" but then only mentions steps.

@gbel1975 Ohh, thank you for clarifying. When using MapMyFitness apps Fitbit will sync just distance and calories to MapMyFitness apps but as mentioned in MFP the exercised that you do using your Surge won't go to MMF. Also, MapMyFitness activity doesn't sync to Fitbit.

All of your replies to this topic talk about FitBit syncing TO MMF.
My problem is if I'm not wearing my FB, the MMF walk doesn't import into FitBit.
ETA: Never mind, I see in in your response that MMF doesn't sync to FitBit even though everything says it's synced. So clearly one of these is worthless. I just get to determine which one.

Steps are captured fine. But Fitbit Surge users are out of luck trying to get GPS workouts to sync anywhere else. MapMyFitness will host fitness challenges that track your workouts like the most recent BMW X1 challenge to complete 19 workouts in 6 weeks. Will Fitbit Surge owners have to manually import their GPS workouts if they want to compete in this challenge?
Am I wrong to argue that Fitbit has not given this issue any attention? We shouldn't have to manually input data anywhere.

@SFDonovan It's nice to see you around! I'm not sure about the Challenge that's in MapMyFitness. Surge will track the activities but just distance and calories will sync to MMF.
Fitbit is always improving their trackers and website that's why we have a great place for you to post your ideas directly to our engineers and developers in our Ideas Board because those suggestions are viewed directly by our engineers and developers and the best of this is that people can vote for them.
Hope I can see your ideas on the board soon

Surge should track the activitiy and sync to MMF as an activity. Not just some aggregate number of calories and distance. Just my opinion.

Why does Fitbit only give MapMyFitness access to aggregate steps only and not minute-by-minute or workout data?
Why does it give Strava access to integrate perfectly my workouts in distance, time, pace, elevation, calories, splits, and even provides data so Strava can create a map of my route?
Fitbit and Strava have flawless integration but not Fitbit and MapMyFitness.
Why?
If you would provide the same data to MapMyFitness as you do to Strava we wouldn't be having this issue.

@SFDonovan Thank you for your opinion and ideas. Fitbit has third-party apps that you can use to enjoy Fitbit and other apps. So we have different things that sync to others because we know each customer is unique and special, you can post any idea that you have in our Ideas Board
