How do I use my Charge 3 with Strava?

Hey,

I have a new Fitbit Charge 3 and I’m looking for some help regarding logging my data for Swims, Bikes and Runs. I have completed a ride today and a run the other day. Both have been logged onto the Fitbit app but not on Strava.

What should I be doing? Do I need to open Strava and record? Or, do I use the watch itself and start a new activity from there? I noticed I can record through the app too. The run I logged on Strava but I have no heart rate or calories displayed from the watch. Then today I started the bike on the watch itself and still no luck. I have go on the Strava app and connected too.

I’m absolutely clueless and just want to be able to record all my data and have it displayed on Strava. I only got the watch so I can monitor heart rate and calories but need to be able to view through Strava. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

A warm welcome to the Community, @AJM02.

Regarding all your inquiries about syncing Strava with Fitbit, I recommend taking a look at the help article: How do I connect my Fitbit account with another app?, where you will be able to see more information.

Let me know if you need anything else. 🙂

Hi,

I have the same issues as this user and have read all the guides. To be frank they don’t answer the questions whatsoever. The point being, once you have done everything in the guide (connected your device and used it correctly, on one app) it still doesn’t sync on the other app.
Another issue I’ve noted, if I connect my Fitbit via the strava app and I check a few hours later it’s disappeared as if I never connected it. I’ve now repeated this process numerous time and I would like a solution.
it’s rather frustrating as I bought the device to sync heart rate data with strava.

Can you advise what would can be done to identify the problem?

thanks,

Bonnie

My problem is that you have not answered the question. Does the Fitbit Charge 3 connect in real time to Strava? Does it stay connected once the app is minimised and then is there a way to see heartrate on Strava in real time once I reopen it.

Final question is when in bike / cycling mode how can I see my heartrate?

Same problem here with Charge 3 and Strava. It won't record heart rate.

Hi @VicAnnells. you are the first to ask if fitbit will connect in real time with Strava, the answer is no.

For heart rate during a run or bike ride to be sent to Strava, you will want to use your fitbit tracker to record your Run or Bike ride with GPS turned on.

Only GPS recorded Runs and Bike rides will send the fitbit data to Strava.

Absolutely right! I just tried it and worked. Procedures I followed.

1. I DIDN'T "record" the walk on Strada.

2. On my Charge 3, I tapped "excersice" - "walk" - "start-.

3. When "finished" the walk was recorded WITH Heart data AND GPS map showing my walk, to Fitbit App and was Successfully uploaded to Strada WITH the aforementioned data.

I don't know what would have happened if I was recording my walk (or ride) simultaneously on Fitbit and Strada Apps.

Thanks but still not answering all my points but at least the real time question is clear now. Have a great day.

@Badis your Strava recording, plus your fitbit recording will show on Strava.

Also your Strava recording will get sent to fitbit..

The result will be two recordings of the run on fitbit and two recordings on Strava since these recordings are for the same time, calories will not be duplicate.
