How to unsync MyFitness Pal and Fitbit

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi there!

Just wondering if anyone can help, I tried connecting my fitbit and fitness pal to see what this would be like and did that easily however didn't like them being connected so tried to unlink them.

I did all the necessary steps, unsyncing on desktop and not app versions for both myfitnesspal and fitbit and it still is taking the food entries over to fitbit. Everything says it's no longer linked however i can't change todays food entires on fitbit.

Any help would be appreicated

Thanks

Hi there @amyclaireplumb. Good to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'll be happy to help you out with this. For removing the access you granted between the two accounts, you will need to go into your Fitbit account on a computer or a browser on your phone. Go to https://www.fitbit.com/ and once you're there, click on the gear icon at the top right corner and then click on Settings. Once you're there, you can click on Applications on the column that is on the left side and you should see MyFitness Pal here. Click on the Revoke Access button that shows on the right side and that should be it.

Hope this helps and if you need more help, let me know!

PS. I'm moving your post to the Third Party Integrations board for categorization purposes.

Hi there,

I did all of that previously, and whilst it says that it’s disconected I can see that information is still linked to my fitness pal. The calories burned is too high taking information from my fitness pal and one day is still linked to my fitness pal but the rest isn’t.

Thanks

Oh, I see. Thanks for getting back @amyclaireplumb!

By unlinking these two accounts, you will stop them from syncing data to each other but this will not remove any information that has been previously transfered. You can rest assure that after you unlink them, the information will no longer sync but there will be no way to delete the transferred information by unlinking them.

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if you need more help!

Oh that’s really disappointing then 😕

I think that that needs to be put somewhere as a warning, for the sake of 15 minutes linking it to see what it was likes it’s now made all my information up until this point pointless.

If I synced again and took information off my fitness pal would that correct this otherwise all my information is so inaccurate now and just pointless to see progress and what’s has worked and hasn’t so far.

Thanks for getting back @amyclaireplumb! I think that the safest thing to do in this situation is to manually delete any unwanted logs. I know it could be tedious but that would be the best way to get rid of the information you don't want and after that, you shouldn't have any problem.

Let me know if you need anything else!
