Incorrect number of calories via MyFitmesPal

Starting yesterday the number of calories being imported from MyFitnessPal is way off. 2,600 is being imported as over 4,000. This combined with the latest glitch in the Aria is really messing with my head.

Hi,

I use myfitnesspal to sync calories to my Fitbit app. Today however it has gone completely haywire and keeps adding random calories and duplicating calorie inputs. Has anyone else had this issue ?

Best Answer

Having the same issue.

I'v eaten 3700 calories today, and fitbit thinks I'm allmost 40.000 calories over budget 😛

Best Answer

Yes, it had me at over 20,000 calories. I went in to the food log and deleted the entries that didn't agree with what I had entered in MFP.

The Fitbit food log had 24 extra entries for breakfast, 6 for lunch, 20 for dinner, and 6 for snacks.

Very strange.

Hmm, something's gone very wrong somewhere ! Hope it gets fixed soon. Thanks for the confirmations, at least I know it's not something with just my hardware and apps.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue. Hopefully it is fixed today. I deleted all entries on Fitbit, and then refreshed the page but it is still off, but now it is under. Also on myfitnesspal, it overestimates my exercise (which should be pulling data from fitbit). I use myfitness pal to only track food. I use fitbit to track activity. I use fitbit to do my calorie allowance. Not sure what's going on, please fix this fitbit/MFP

I do exactly the same Joseph. Today (so far) it has been OK so hopefully whatever it was has been fixed.

I'm having the same problem  I've noticed that everytime I add something to myfitnesspal I get a new entry for all my total calories on my dashboard.

Same problem here.  I'm not sure where it's getting the extra entries from.  Has anyone submitted a ticket to MyFitnessPal to resolve?

Just saw this posted on MyFitnessPal:

Hello folks,

We are investigating an issue where some member's calories are being sent over to Fitbit erroneously. Users may see one of two behaviors. The first being, your MyFitnessPal entries getting logged multiple times in the Fitbit dashboard. With the second, you would see the same number of entries in Fitbit, however, the calories appear to be compounding with each entry.

We have a good idea what may be causing the problem and we are working diligently to get a fix in place as efficiently as possible. We greatly appreciate your patience during this process.

Thank you s0nnla for this info, I hope they fix this soon! I've relied on MFP and fitbit a lot to loose weight.

Yes, my calorie data from mfp started duplicating yesterday. This seems to occur when I've made an qty adjustment to a food entry, everything in that meal section is reentered into the fitbit meal summary. I took some screenshots of fb & mfp and have sent it in to the fitbit support desk. Depending on why this was happening in the past it took days to resolve. The first time it took months. To correct, you have to go into the diary section of fitbit on your pc and delete the
Duplicates. A wicked pain. I hope it gets resolved quickly this time.

Seems there is still an issue, according to my calorie intake on Fitbit, my dinner was HUGE lol. I think as a work around until it gets fixed I'll enter the day's food on to Myfitnesspal and then manually input the amount of calories it was worked out at the end of the day in to fitbit. Not ideal but for now it will do.

UnSlimJim, The food entries in mfp should be correct by they are being duplicated in the fitbit app. All you need to do to correct things in the fitbit app us log in to the fitbit website and go to the calories eaten section. You can then delete the duplicate/erroneous entries. It's still a pain but it's a workaround until they figure out the issue with the transfer of data from mfp to fitbit and fix it.

Hey Karin,

I was finding that but also it now appears to be getting the calorie intake wrong for a single food, as opposed to it putting in one or more of the same entry where you could just go in and delete the multiple entries, the number of calories for a single item is wrong.

Unslimjim, did you make a change to the amount of an already logged food item? That's usually when I see the erroneous entry.

No, it was a brand new entry. I have seen the issue you describe in the past though.

I'm getting the same thing. It seemingly is added random snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner calories to the fitbit app.

Same here. Logged about 1500 calories in MFP but Fitbit app is showing over 5,000. So frustrating!
