Issue with water logging

ANSWERED

Hi,

is there currently any issues with water logging? On the Status Dashboard i don't see any issues.

But I have following problems. I'm using a third party app, where I log the water I drank. Since yesterday I got the error that the entries could not be sent to Fitbit.

I checked in the Fitbit app and saw, hat only two entries where created. Before I write app support, I checked, if the REST API has maybe an issue. On the Swagger UI I checked I've I could log water manually, which was successfull. Entries where shown in the Fitbit App. But if I log water in the Fitbit App, I don't see these entries in the API Explorer, which seems weird.

But the entries, I add with the API Explorer, can be deleted in the FitBit App and disappear in the API Explorer. This seems to work.

Kind regards

Engineering rolled back the change. The water log recordings in the mobile app are not visible through the Get Water Log endpoint.

Thank you for reporting this problem @EntropicMaximum .  I have filed a ticket with engineering and will update this post when I get more information

I'm having the same issue. The third party app I maintain hasn't been picking up water numbers since the 1st. I added water in the fitbit app but get a value of "0" back from the api when I request /foods/log/date/<today> through my third party app, and also through the fitbit dev api explorer (https://dev.fitbit.com/build/reference/web-api/explore/#/Nutrition). The fitbit app now shows two water entries for a total of 16 fluid ounces. But, when I request the foods/log endpoint for <today> via the api (both the web-api explorer, or my own third-party app) I get a response that only includes 8oz of water total. And if I request the foods/log/water/date/<today> to get the detailed water info, it shows 8oz, and only lists the one entry, not two.

Thanks!

@GordonFitbitThanks, everything is working as expected. By the way, is there any public site where we can check for breaking changes in the REST API? That would be very helpful in case something stops working.

We have a site which informs you when the site is down, but it wouldn't list breaking changes like this.  The site we have is https://www.fitbitstatus.com.   More information can be found at Fitbit Status in our documentation.

@GordonFitbit Any update on this? Our users are still experiencing this issue with the water REST API.

I keep seeing this in the forum but I'm not understand what it means?
