Many erroneous steps appearing on my account from LFconnect

We are aware that some users are seeing thousands of extra steps appearing on their account this morning. At this time, we believe the issue is caused by a third-party app called "LFconnect" by Life Fitness. This app is creating many erroneous activity logs, which result in the appearance of these extra steps.

At this time, we'd recommend disconnecting this app under the Applications tab of your Dashboard settings and manually removing the logs that appear on your Manual Logging page.

We are working with this partner to make sure the issue is resolved as quickly as possible, and will update this thread when we believe it to be working normally again.

10/20 Update: Life Fitness has acknowledged the issue with their integration, which is resulting in many extra steps. They have disabled the integration, so that no workout data should currently be transmitting to Fitbit accounts at this point. They plan to release a full fix by tomorrow, October 21st, after which normal integration behavior should resume.

My Fitbit today synced up to my phone telling me I've done over 33k+ steps when all I've done today is sleep, drive and sit down to work (so my estimate 1 or 2k steps MAX).

Looking back at the last few days and suddenly the stats have completely changed and everything has almost tripled for no reason? And my activity list on the website version is telling me I've done running, cycling when I haven't done any of that?

What is going on? Smiley Surprised

I just had the same thing occurr on my Surge. Checked my dashboard and I've walked 33k steps in the 1 hour since midnight and apparently I've been running 17 miles a day for 6 months while also riding my bike 5 miles every day?

I've woke up this morning to 37,400 steps, 20.67 miles, and 636 calories burned. I think this is a bad case of malfunctioning. Or can anyone help or assist in how to clear it. Thanks

Ditto. I apparently did nearly 20 miles while sleeping. Awesome.

Hi @SunsetRunner

On the computer (fitbit.com) when logged in to your account there's a option to change the sleep tracking sensitivity.. on the tracker settings page.

Check if sleep tracking is set to 'sensitive', if it's set to sensitive, change it to 'normal':

Go to: URL: Click to go to the tracker settings

* There's no save button but the setting will be saved. After the next sync, the new mode will be used.

It's possible to remove the sleep log on the sleep log page, afterwards a new sleep log can be manually created which use the less sensitive mode.

Go to the sleep log page: URL: Sleep Log

Hover over the sleep log below, a 'edit' and 'remove' icon appear in the upper right corner of the log. Click the edit icon to edit the sleep log.

I have a similar problem, i went to the gym on 12,000 steps and came back to 48.000 steps.

Do you have anything odd on your activity tracker?  I seem to have a lot of old activities that have popped up as today's date around the one time period.

I've had the same problem. This morning I was at the gym and after the workout it counted just below 3000 steps.  After syncing I was up to 36.000 with a lot of activities logged in the future.

No idea how to undo this.  I am suspicious it is because I linked my fitbit account to the exercise equipment at the gym - going to try to unlink it and delete the workouts to see if it resets.

Your saying that the graphs are showing steps in the future?
My thoughts what exercise realignment and services did you link your Fitbit account too?
Could it be that the clock in the realignment is wrong?
Later on you'll be able to log these offending time as driving, this will remove the steps.
You also might want to contact Fitbit with the time of the steps that were added

Are your steps being reset at midnight?

Mine have been.

I think I might go back and delete all the added activities as well, they go back over days now.

Hi Rich,

Yes I do, I took a few screenshots at the time, before and after deleting the additional workouts.

It was synced with the gym equipment which is lfconnect, I've set that up as UK language but I cannot find a timezone on that site.  In any case I have unlinked it as I'm tracking it on the fitbit I don't need the site to add a duplicate record.

It has taken off 13,000 steps but I'm still showing steps in the future and no idea why now.

How do I do this 'Later on you'll be able to log these offending time as driving, this will remove the steps.'

Hi All,

Just an update to the above.  I went back into my dashboard and found the activities have reappeared.  I've gone through the process of removing the extra ones twice and finally have it back to more or less the correct time and steps.

I think it just didn't register all of the deletions originally but if anyone else has the same problem check your activity log is correct and it might help.

I woke up this morning and found that a number of various activites had been added to my log on different days. When I woke up my fitbit account recorded I had over 33,000 steps already. I am linked to My Fitness Pal but I log my activites though fitbit website. Is there a way to get rid of all these incorrect activites?

My FitBit just synced and I went from 876 steps to 36,716.  I am trying to exercise more but this is crazy.

Same thing for me this morning.  Over 30k steps, and the tracker was on the charger all night.  When I go to the online dashboard it's showing activities from TODAY at 4pm and .... it's not even 7am.  I tried a reset and even taught it that I had a new device, so we'll see where it goes from here.... but all the false steps are still logged....

I had the same thing.  I decided to spend a few minutes and delete and the bogus postings which actually went back a few days.  I also decided to break connections to any other app that I may have been synced to.

I woke up to the same issue this morning.  I don't want to have to delete the bogus activity but I guess I will.  I am hoping that support sees this and fixes the bug!!!!
