Many erroneous steps appearing on my account from LFconnect

We are aware that some users are seeing thousands of extra steps appearing on their account this morning. At this time, we believe the issue is caused by a third-party app called "LFconnect" by Life Fitness. This app is creating many erroneous activity logs, which result in the appearance of these extra steps.

At this time, we'd recommend disconnecting this app under the Applications tab of your Dashboard settings and manually removing the logs that appear on your Manual Logging page.

We are working with this partner to make sure the issue is resolved as quickly as possible, and will update this thread when we believe it to be working normally again.

10/20 Update: Life Fitness has acknowledged the issue with their integration, which is resulting in many extra steps. They have disabled the integration, so that no workout data should currently be transmitting to Fitbit accounts at this point. They plan to release a full fix by tomorrow, October 21st, after which normal integration behavior should resume.

Same thing happened to me and a lot of other users. As I look back on past days, there seems to be a lot of activity that I didn't actually perform. I hope someone finds a solution soon

Same issue here! Before I even got out of bed it started celebrating 10k! And my husband too.

Strangely though, it's not showing up on the Work Week challenge. Also, both of us have our accounts linked to LFconnect equipment at our gym and their app.

Edit to add: We both have Fitbit Charge HR - not sure about the rest of you? And we're using the most up to date iOS app.

This happened to me this morning! I woke up to 38,000 steps. I logged in online and found there were numerous exercises which I most certainly had not completed while sleeping. I'd never do 30+ separate workouts while awake. I spent over 15 minutes just deleting the exercises and I think it put my step count back to normal. I hope there aren't any more erroneous workouts posted from now on.

Same here. There also seems to be a lot of data on past days that I didn't actually perform. A lot of people are having the same problem, but so far I've seen no solutions.

This links like a great idea, doing a search I found contact info for LifeGitnes on their FAQ.

These idea sounds great, and he this activities of I read them correctly are just weird, it looks like oncevyye steps are recorded they don't want to come off.

The fun part would be to log driving, of the activities don't want to be removed, since only one activity can be love for a time period.

For removing steps see this help doc

I had the same issue...a very active night of 33,000 steps in my sleep! I'm typically not a sleep-walker, so I emailed customer support. Thanks for the update that they are working on it!

I have had this happen only since Friday.  On Friday it was just a little over 10K steps actual and it bounced up to over 15K.  Yesterday I had only about 5k steps and it shows 14K - now today before I got out of bed it was over 36K steps plus all the miles I ran!  Has nothing to do with sleep sensitivity.  Something else is going on because we have two fitbits and they are both reading erratically on steps, miles, yet calories burned look accurate.

Has there been an upgrade?

I think this is at the FitBit end not the tracker -  We've had our trackers for some time - never had a problem.  Now this.

Please look into this a little more - it's not how sensitive the sleep mode is.  It's happened throughout the day - just jumped to an unrealistic count for the activity.

I'm using the Charge (without HR), with iOS. But I have mine connected to a lot of apps:
Mapmyrun
Myfitnesspal
LFConnect
Planet Fitness

Aww man, I just noticed that all that extra exercise is in myfitnesspal, too!

I contacted support via chat.  Had to delete the invalid activities on the dashboard and resync.  They have excalated the problem. Said there's a bug and they are working on it.

mine too. I walked/ran/biked in my sleep 111 times for 52000 steps this morning. And went back in time for 2000+ more on Friday and Saturday night.

Now if I can only win the lottery......

I have the exact same issue, an extra 50,000 steps with strenuous activity logged whilst the sleep log shows me utterly still.

This morning I woke up with 50,000 steps! It also recorded a day full of activity. What happened? Has anyone else had this problem? The help I got from the help line said, "wait until midnight and it will reset". Not happy with "tech support"

I woke up to having done 41 separate runs, bike rides, and walks today, and that's what brought me here.  Not sure what to do except manually delete them all.

I had the same issue. I noticed it a second ago when my charge buzzed at me and said I had 35k steps and a full day's worth of activities. When I looked back I noticed that it had done this for nearly 3 days. I've manually reset, but what the heck is the deal with this?

I woke up to 57,000 steps this morning. Not on my Fitbit, but my dashboard. I can not get rid of those steps. I was told engineering is working on it. Now my Fitbit has the same numbers. I have factory reset it 3 times.

I woke up this morning and noticed by 8:30 AM my Flex had already logged over 36000 steps - I had probably taken maybe 1000. It also added 20000 or so steps to each of three previous days' totals. Has anyone had this issue and is there anyway to correct? I have not changed how I use the tracker at all and I have tried resetting. Any help would be appreciated.
