Many erroneous steps appearing on my account from LFconnect

We are aware that some users are seeing thousands of extra steps appearing on their account this morning. At this time, we believe the issue is caused by a third-party app called "LFconnect" by Life Fitness. This app is creating many erroneous activity logs, which result in the appearance of these extra steps.

At this time, we'd recommend disconnecting this app under the Applications tab of your Dashboard settings and manually removing the logs that appear on your Manual Logging page.

We are working with this partner to make sure the issue is resolved as quickly as possible, and will update this thread when we believe it to be working normally again.

10/20 Update: Life Fitness has acknowledged the issue with their integration, which is resulting in many extra steps. They have disabled the integration, so that no workout data should currently be transmitting to Fitbit accounts at this point. They plan to release a full fix by tomorrow, October 21st, after which normal integration behavior should resume.

All of these numbers synced about 1:30am.  The ChargeHR was on the charger.  At least I earned a badge in the process 😛  I have a bunch of 0.34mi runs.  284 active minutes (it was 1:30am, how is that possible lol).  It added numbers on top of the last three days of stats as well.  I'd love to say I was this active!

Will it correct itself?

The customer support person on Fitbit said that she needs more time to look into it and would also seek other's help in Fitbit to look into it. She asked me if I loaned my fitbit surge to anyone. I said No. I was also asked if I loaned my cell phone to anyone such that that person can manually logged those hours. I said No. I explained that I see all these steps/activities all of a sudden this morning. And ALSO, my step counts for previous few days were showing increased with activities that I did not do. Until last night around 10:30 PM EST, everything was ok. The fiitbit customer support said they need more time to look into it and took my cell number to call back. Hopefully they call back.

Just checked my and it has changed steps from Friday - today. I have only been up a couple of hours and it says I've walked 37,000 steps! I only take mine off to charge and shower, so it's only been on me. Frustrating!!!

I'm sure there's someone else on here who has dealt with this, but I didn't see it anywhere.
Anyway, when I woke up at 6:30 this morning, my Dashboard showed that I already had over 30,000 steps. It says I had a little over 19,000 yesterday, which is realistic. But 30,000 after 5 hours of sleep? I must have been running a marathon in my sleep. While I appreciate the bump in my numbers, accuracy would be nice. What should I do?

The chat people don't care they just keep saying we offered you 25% off.

I am telling them that it is not my fit bit that is broke. It is their system!!!

If you have not noticed already, I see similar issues reported by Fitbit HR users too. Saw few posts under Fitbit HR about steps not taken being shown. Please check out under Fitbit HR if you like to know details.

I'm having the same problem.  Seems I ran 20 miles during the night!  My dashboard shows multiple activiites probably connected to LFConnect.  Do I need to delete all the activities or will this autocorrect at some point? Is anyone looking at this issue from support?

Mine also added 35k overnight and around 20k yesterday evening. It has just been sitting on my desk/nightstand.

I had to reset it yesterday because it hadn't been syncing in a couple days. So odd.

It also added a ton of random activities, 5 mins of biking (I don't own a bike), couple minutes of running, probably over 30 various activities.

I also am connected to LFConnect, but my LFConnect shows (correctly) that my last activity with them was my 45 minute treadmill workout on Saturday. There doesn't appear to be anything related to my LFConnect unless something went seriously haywire.

I tried resetting and restarting the Fitbit, but nothing.
