MapMyWalk miles not matching Fitbit.

i use map my walk on my phone why dosent fit bit give mme the same miles as 

map my walk always get less from fit bit

I notice odd things with this too.  For example, I start tracking my exercise on my Android app, and when I finish it shows something like 5.2 miles.  Then the map and my dashboard might only show 4.8 miles.
