Like many of you, I was hoping (and kinda lead to believe) that the data from my Surge would sync to other apps (my main interested is Mapmyrun). I looks like it's on the horizon..... just a bit ambiguous as to WHEN it will be available. I found this on the Fitbit developer page.
"Heart Rate, GPS, and OAuth 2.0 Coming Soon
Fitbit recently announced three exciting new products: Charge, Charge HR, and Surge. We're also excited to announce that the Fitbit API will provide access to the all day heart rate and GPS data from these devices. These data types will be accessible exclusively via OAuth 2.0. We'll be sharing more information about these new endpoints and our OAuth 2.0 transition in the coming months."
For those who don't know, the "API" is (in general terms) information Fitbit makes available for other sites to use. It seems it's currently limited to the features available on their older products. Now that they have new features on new products, they're working on making that data accessable to sync.
I have to say, I am pretty impressed with how quickly Fitbit has come as far as they have. So, hopefully this will be coming soon!

@Timmyjstacy Thank you for your contributions to the Community! You're able to link your MapMyRun and Fitbit accounts, in this case, the steps from Fitbit will be reflected on your MMR app. If you want to share more information in both sides, I recommend submitting your opinion in our Feature request Forums. I hope you get a lot of votes! Good luck!
