@LPD5 let's see if i understand, your friends MFP seems to work correctly and not the way yours does.
First have you checked MFP and Fitbits stats through their web interface? I'd i looks good on the web then lets logout/in on both apps.
The next thing to try, it might take a day or two to confirm.
Ok one more thing to try is to revoke access to MFP, then do the fitbit/mfp connect accounts routine.

Also i moved your post to the third party apps, this is between your Fitbit account and MFP, not the Blaze
